SO, anyone looked for a place to live recently? Dealt with cunting estate agents? Any tips for good web sites to search on?

I've already spent more time looking for a new place than I did for this current one, which involved walking into an estate agent, asking what they had available, and taking the best thing they had then and there.

Tell me your stories of flat-hunting to fill me with dread.
