MPs, topless photos of 15 year-olds, the folly of youth
http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2013/oct/18/louise-mensch-gloria-de-piero-topless-photos
you know how everyone few months, someone you know probably mutters something darkly about how the next generation of politicians are going to have embarrassing facebook photos plastered all over the Daily Mail? well, that.the story in my link raises all sorts of questions, for once one of them not being "how does Louise Mensch keep being allowed anywhere near something to be broadcast".
so, Labour MP Gloria de Piero posed topless when she was 15 (so, 1987 or 1988). there are photos somewhere. newspapers want to publish them. QUESTION THE FIRST: would publishing such photos of someone who is under 16 not technically be illegal under some kind of paedophilia prevention law?
but yeah, this was something she did as a kid, now she's an adult. QUESTION THE SECOND: how the hell is the political class going to cope in 15 years or whatever when there's so much evidence of all the dumb student things they did, some of which were probably immoral and illegal?
QUESTION THE THIRD: sexism, yeah? (feel free to cover this one less, i mean heck we talk about sexism and the like more on here than the issues in questions one and two)
