That's a few weeks old but I also wanted to discuss US books being considered next year. I've read a decent amount of handwringing for/against and I have to say I couldn't give a damn about the prize's legitimacy...so adding American authors seems unnecessary. I use the Booke as a gateway for modern literature, so at the moment it is at its pinnacle of usefulness for me before it just becomes another Pulitzer.
