well not out, but doing some proper jail time.

here's my suggestion.

persistent criminals (lets use punchy cunts as an example) should have some sort of three strikes hanging over their sorry heads

the idea

a chap goes into town and beats the shit out of some geek. just for the japes. lets say he gets 2 years. at this point, he is told that he is now on the 3 strikes rule. All along his incarceration, he will have support in dealing with his anger issues. not just rotting in prison playing playstation. like real rehabilitation shit.

does it again on release - does some time. once again reminded that he is now one offence away from doing some serious time (say 10 years)

again - rehab time etc

he does it again - he gets a straight 10 years (or whatever)

I consider myself to be a lefty prick (let cats sit on my lap, eat lentil soup) but man, this is something I've thought about for maybe 7 years.
