NFL WEEK 2 SUNDAY THREAD - MANNING BOWL
So after Thursday's dirge, today should really live up to expectations and really get the season going.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS @ CHICAGO BEARS
Well this could be an interesting one, but it largely depends on Christian Ponder. Adrian Peterson still looks the real deal, but as he's constantly proved, he can't do EVERYTHING by himself. AP should still have a decent game today, but the Bears look fairly strong at home with their hard-hitting D. The Bears probably should wrap this up quite comfortably, but don't count the Vikes out completely.

DENVER BRONCOS @ NEW YORK GIANTS
At the moment, it's a bit difficult to look beyond the Broncos not having a perfect season. They humiliated the Superbowl champions in the season opener and looked incredibly strong, and that was with a depleted defence. The Giants however looked turnover friendly somehow letter Dallas believe they have a shot this season. This should be pretty high scoring, and of course, Eli will want to right the wrongs of week 1 against his older brother, but Peyton's weapons look far too good right now.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS @ SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Ladies and Gentlemen, here's the real game of the weekend. Forget the Mannings, the balance of power has shifted to the West Coast making this the most exciting rivalry in the NFL today. Last year, these two provided two absolutely thrilling matches and so nearly was the NFC Championship game (thanks Atlanta, you were a real valid contribution to that game). This year it seems almost inevitable that they will make that game happen; the Niners were very convincing in their opener against Green Bay, while Seattle survived a tough away trip in Carolina. This will of course be a very tight, entertaining game, a real battle of the D as well as two young, explosive Quarterbacks. Seattle have a couple injuries that could hold them back, particularly if Anquain Boldin keeps his ridiculous form from last week, but I just love Seattle as home with the NOISE

PITTSBURGH STEELERS @ CINCINNATI BENGALS
Well the AFC North got off to a cracking start didn't it? The Cleveland Browns are joint first!!!! Anyway, the Steelers looked toothless at Tennessee last week, and those issues aren't going to go away, whereas the Bengals were a trifle unlucky, save for a moment of madness which let the Bears back in. At home, the Bengals should have enough to see this one through, though of course if Troy Pomalamu can see through time again then maybe not.

THE REST:
St. Louis Rams at Atlanta Falcons - Rams look like a sleeper pick this year, as the NFC West goes from stride to stride. The Falcs probably do have enough, but expect this one to be close (ATL BY 3)
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens - The Browns don't look has terrible as usual, particularly with Trent Richardson running all day, but the champs will be ANGRY, and the Browns are in the firing line (BAL by 7)
Carolina Panthers at Buffalo Bills - Here's an interesting one, neither will have much of an impact this season but this should be tight. If Cam can get going, Panthers are strong, but the Bills perhaps have more range. (BUF by 3)
Washington Redskins at Green Bay Packers - Well, the Skins were miserable last week. Though RG3 looked promising towards the end, they're going to have to improve a lot against a still strong and hurting Packers team at home. I don't think this is their week. (GB by 4-5)
Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans - Good win for the Titans last week, but the Texans proved they're still for real (Texans by 7)
Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts - The fins are in with a shout this year, but the Colts still look exciting even if they scraped through last week (IND by 4-5)
Dallas Cowboys at Kansas City Chiefs - Here's an intriguing one, two teams with a lot to prove and potentially quite exciting seasons. Kansas brushed past the Jags whereas the Cowboys overcame the Giants, should be close (KC by 3)
San Diego Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles - San Diego start their Superbowl march from Philly for the 5th year in a row today!!! Seriously though, Eagles look exciting under Chip Kelly, running every single play on a banged up Chargers line. (PHI by 7)
9pm:
Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals - Here's another tough one to call, both similarly matched teams, though the Lions looked pretty impressive last week. (DET by 3)
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Tampa are still a mess, the saints are still good (NO by 7)
Jacksonville Jaguars at Oakland Raiders - Oh the Jags they are shite... Terrell Pryor though (OAK by 7)
And that's yer lot, predictions, fantasy etc?
