After our trophy winning venture into the realms of the Netherlands, I am very pleased to inform you that the DiS football team has been offered the opportunity to go away on a further two road trips later this year.

26 & 27 OCTOBER: EXETER INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY

We have been invited by DiS stalwart Smee to come over to the Devon region to play against his new chums with whom he has started to hang out recently. We may even play our game at St. James Park (probably not). As Exeter is quite a good town to spend an evening exploring the local hostelries, we should turn it into a weekend trip: leave London on Saturday morning, play in the afternoon, drink and be merry in the evening, stay the night and return to London same time on Sunday afternoon.

30 NOVEMBER: BRIGHTON INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY

In a reprise of last year's successful road trip, we will be once again descending on the Sussex coast. The concept will be more or less the same, we try and get as many DiS regulars down from London, supplement this with any available locals, play a game in the afternoon, and then Lee & Amy have kindly invited us to another one of their cracking parties. Three changes from last year though, we'll try to find a pitch not on the top of a big hill, no rings will be exchanged, and under no circumstance shall limbo dancing be allowed. For this one you can either take the last train home on Saturday night, or continue through the night at the Green Door Store, if only to harass that pesky barman. Overnight accomodation is optional.

If you haven't played for the DiS football before, and you live in the Exter or Brighton area then you are obviously more than welcome to join in.

No need to commit yet to either game, there will be seperate official threads to formally sign up, this is just a note to prepare yourself and get excited in advance.

(on a seperate note: at least one, possibly two international friendlies are due to be confirmed for September - to be played in London)
