I don't have many hard stats to base this on, but it feels like a lot of big budget films are underperforming at the moment, with The Lone Ranger the latest to spectacularly fail to meet its budget. Yet it seems like just as many as ever are being greenlit - is this all going to come crashing down soon? And what will replace them if they do?
