Food you can’t actually really buy at supermarkets
I’m not necessarily talking about more `foreign` things sumac or nori or asafoetida or whatever, `cause fair enough. But ordinary British things, like I often want a good chunk of ham (and recipes often specify using a whole piece), but all the supermarkets ever seem to sell are these anemic wafer-thin sheets. And I’ve seen a number of recipes this summer for salads and so on asking for courgette flowers. I’ve never seen a fucking courgette flower in my life.
And why do so many things only come in one size? I wanted some minced lamb yesterday, and the supermarket had about 15 packs, all of which were 450g. I didn’t need 450g. Could they not have a range (between like 200g – 800g or something)?
Come on shops, be less useless.
