Red Bull Racing's second F1 seat
It's probably the most interesting thing going on in the world of sport right now, eh? Or if not, certainly F1.
Webber is off meaning there is a free seat at Red Bull next year. There was talk of Riccardo getting the drive as his performances at Baby Red Bull have been very good (especially in qualifying, and as RB win races by just doing a few qualifying laps when people are in the pits it bodes well) which makes sense in some respects; keeps Vettel as the lead driver and very happy with some fresh talent around.
THEN Raikkonen got mentioned, which Seb was pretty happy about as he likes him. Would be very interesting to see those two go head to head and see just how good Vettel is. Kimi is very professional too so a good banker to help with the constructors' challenge (where the big money is).
AND NOW Alonso's manager has gone and said hi, pointing out that the stars were bright and the time was right for Fernando to leave Ferrari after 4 years of essentially being the 3rd best team each season. Vettel isn't so sure about that and history shows that two big names on one big team doesn't usually work out too well, BUT it'd be great for the neutral and I'm sure the RB marketeers are rubbing their hands at their potential sponsorship cash cow.
There is also talk (though it's limited) that Vettel will go to Ferrari for mega bucks in a move to prove he's a true great and win titles for different manufacturers with Alonso doing a straight swap, but can't see that happening.
So yeah. By F1 standards this is a proper interesting story. I bet it ends in a really boring way.
What say you?!
