Didn't see a thread. What are you thinking?
I really like Jane Campion, so tuned in to this over a lot of feted TV shows on at the moment. It's quite good, subtly atmospheric, moments of suspense. Peter Mullan is reliably charismatic.
But I dunno of it's that much better than a lot of similar shows on right now, like all the Scandinavian ones. It's not quite weird or dark enough to set itself apart.
Was hoping there was going to be more of Campions's stamp on the show but it feels slightly generic. Obviously the landscape and the female focus is in keeping with her films, but I was kind of expecting something a bit more ethereal/dreamy.
It's pulled me in enough to watch the rest of it though.
