I'm looking to go to NY for a week or so in October/November this year to see a friend. They can't put me up, and I have no idea where to even start looking for accommodation. My budget isn't *massive* but I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest place possible... Is it worth looking in to couch-surfing if I'm just going to one place?
