Hallo.

I recently moved up here into a city centre flat after spending four years living in Cornwall. I got kinda attached to the scenery in the end and I'm already missing having the beach on my doorstep, getting pished in wanky, pastoral pubs and all that nice crap. I love Manchester so far and all the madness it offers but where do you go for like, parks and general greenery? Are there any nice parks in walking distance of the centre or is all the countryish stuff a train journey away?

Don't have a problem with getting the train but could do with some suggestions where to visit for a day just to go walking/picnicking and so on. Sounds all very twee but I like exploring footpaths and listening to music.
