I need to book some trains. I normally just get my ticket at the station on the day so that I can have flexibility, but I don't really need the flexibility for these journeys and I'm happy to be tied into a specific train.

So, is there ever any point in using thetrainline.co.uk? It seems to me it merely matches the cheapest national rail price and then whacks on a handling charge. Or am I missing something?
