I watched Watchdog last night for some reason.

We were encouraged to celebrate because some guy hit a pothole, damaged his expensive car and was then his dad discovered he was able to claim money off the council because it was somehow their fault.

These people did not look strapped for cash, the car was a BMW.

Yes - council tax payers money (£800) being used to fix a top end car. HOORAH!

Oh it was emphasized that the boy was a soldier off to Afghanistan. So you know - DESERVING.

Also the boy was able to imply that it was the fault of some cyclists. I'm sure he was travelling at a very modest speed as lads in their early 20s in high end cars generally do.

I then watched this weeks two episodes if Parks and Rec which were the best of the series I think.
