Thursday Gaming Thread
I know there is one lurking down below, but it is last week’s.
As Phillip Larkin said: “afresh, afresh, afresh.”
Double Fine are doing a humble bundle. Which means you can get Psychonauts, Costume Quest and Stacking for a couple of pence if you are stingy. Psychonauts is a classic and is worth getting at that price.
Pay a fiver and you get Brutal Legend as well which is an entertaining game with a distinctive world and comprehensive metal soundtrack (you don’t have to like metal to enjoy it as it takes the piss out of metal as much as celebrates it). Jack Black is tolerable in it; it also features extensive amounts of Lemmy as he is one of the principal characters despite being a very wooden actor. Worth a fiver for the novelty.
£22 gives you a pre-order for their Kickstarter game and the accompanying documentary (which is insightful for anyone who wants to know how games are made).
Did you know that two of Pixar’s latest films in development are based around:
- Travelling through the Mexican land of the dead
- A place where characters can enter people’s minds.
Bearing an uncanny resemblance to Grim Fandango and Psychonauts respectively. Double Fine should sue.
