I need to learn to drive in the next 4 months (by mid-August). So I have about 16 weeks, but the instructor my missus uses has told me to expect to have 40 lessons with him, at £18/hour IF you buy in 10-hour blocks.

This seems higher than most people I know, who have generally been ready to go after 25-30, which would be a lot easier to fit in my time-frame. I won't have a car to practice in outside of lessons though so maybe that matters.

Any advice? Anyone in Manchester have any recommended instructors they can PM me?
