this is the point I make in discussion with people about Thatcher (I would say the same about Blair too) Most people I talk to think that it's a preposterous thing to say but OBL caused the death of 3,000 people on 9/11 plus a few other smaller terrorist attacks. The Falklands War caused the direct death of 907 people and she ruined millions more lives by destroying industry and disregarding the poor, there are countless other things She did but I'm sure everyone has been reminded of them in the last few days.

In absolutely no way do I condone OBL or his actions, I think they are horrific (I just think Thatcher was worse) but at least he had somewhat of a cause due to the United States heavy involvement in the Middle East via Navy bases, relations with Israel etc. and total disregard for the Arab people.
