Today’s deep (boring) topic: Humanity is in its weakest biological moment
So yeah, I was thinking yeah, that because of medicine and drugs, we manage to keep people alive that should have died. As in, most of us. But we can whip out a bad appendix, we can kill of that bacterial infection, we can give anti-viral drugs, we can remove tumours or take out bits of organs that have become poisonous.
This means of course that “the weak” (probably more than half of us) now survive when 150 years we wouldn't. So then we pass on our weak genes and humanity gets weaker and weaker with more defects that evolution would have naturally flushed out generations ago.
So we’re fucked right – Sitting on a shit-genetics tomebomb?
Well yes, but we since we’ve mapped the human genome, we’re starting to be able to tinker with our actual make up and sort these problems out. So I guess what I’m saying is RIGHT NOW we’re at our biological worst: Too many shit genes with no enough science to help just yet.
tl;dr version: Humans pass on shit genes but science is gonna sort it out soon. PARTY.
