my laptop - running windows 8 - won't run the exe file for Adobe reader when I try to install it or update iTunes when I tell it to do that either?

there's only me using this thing, does it think I don't have the right permissions to alter my own machine?

I wouldn't have thought so since it already let/made/annoyingly forced me to download another browser thanks to some stupid EU ruling even though I'd already downloaded and was using Chrome.

Incidentally since being forced to reinstall chrome by that annoying pop-up in order for it to finally get rid of the pop-up and recognise chrome as the default browser chrome no longer connects to any websites whereas IE does.

Is this because Windows 8 is a massive steaming pile of shit?

Also how I can force it to install the programmes I want to since it is being a stubborn bastard.
