People like to help people, it makes them feel good about themselves and of course is, um, helpful to the recipient. A win-win situation, if you like. What stories do you have about helping strangers? Did it result in a friendship, a romance even? A thank you letter? A mention in the Good Deeds section of The Metro? Local press?

I have a knack of finding lost phones. When the owner calls the phone I arrange to meet them in a local pub where they invariably buy me a drink or two to say thanks; however I never see them again afterwards. I'm hoping that one day I get to meet my true love this way, it seems kind of romantic somehow.
