Can we have a general rant about banks in here. And maybe some praise for the good'uns too?

I am fed up with Lloyds TSb and their OTT fraud checks. In the last three months I've had about ten transactions blocked for fraud checking. 'OH, WE'RE DOING IT TO PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNT,' they say. No, you're not, you chumnps. you're doing it to protect your own exposure in having to make good any transactions that go through which turn out to be dodgy. The one time I've been defrauded they didn't catch it and it was just my own out-of-character vigilance that caught it. Most of these transactions they've tried to block have been at well known stores too, and there's been no real difference to my spedning patterns or habits. It's fucking embarrassing (because it's not flagged immediately as a fraud-stop at tghe till, and so you just get 'card declined' whihc means you have to say to the retailer, 'but i have plenty of cash in this account' etc while they curl their lip at you. Mortifying. and highly inconvenient.

SO, I've had enough and I want to change banks. Recommend me your bank. Or have a bitch about yours.
