i saw a big rant on facebook the other day where a friend of mine was bemoaning the cornerhouse for not showing more arthouse stuff when it claims to be an arthouse cinema (does it claim that?) and instead just show films about the cultural significance of pizza in peru or something. idk

i always associated the cornerhouse with world cinema tbh, one of my findest memories of being in manchester is starting to explore foreign films at this place. is arthouse a totally different thing? i really don't know.

it's hard for me to word this because i'm by no means an expert but when people moan about the place because they're "having a spanish film festival instead of showing arthouse stuff" what does that mean?

i've heard it complained about as well that they don't get involved with manchester pride. that's probably a fair complaint.
