How much do you spend on bills per month?

I'm trying to budget for getting my own place (renting) and am trying to work out how much I can afford/how nice a place I can get. I read the thread on here the other week about the upsides and downsides to living alone but it didn't really touch on the money side of things.

When I shared with my ex girlfriend, we spent about £265 per month on bills between us. Is it reasonable to assume it'd be a bit less for one person living alone, seeing as I'd be using less water/electric/gas etc? Obviously council tax would be the same.
