football spin-off thread: who do you think your club will sell and sign in the January transfer window?
As you well know, i don't really bother watching live vulgarball all that regularly nowadays, but i still have a passing interest in elements of what used to be knows years ago as the beautiful game.
The next tranny winder opens at the start of Jan, and it's become a much-loved custom on here to get a thread going asking the fans of the different clubs to predict what business they think their side will do.
Now, of course, i don't support any particular club nowadays, so i've just opted for a quick paragaph on each of what you could deem the Big Six...
MAN UNITED
Get the impression they're pretty balanced at the minute, and getting quite lucky with injuries, so wouldn't be surprised if they made no big January signings. Maybe just a replacement for Nani, who sounds like he's finished there. Cheik Tiote might still pop up, who knows.
MAN CITY
Now that Mancini's won his ongoing battle with Brian Marwood, wouldn't be surprised to see him ditch Marwood's signings at the first possible chance, especially Scott Sinclair. That was one never going to work. Can see them selling Balotelli and bringing in another playmaker, plus De Rossi, which sounds like it's more or less done.
CHELSEA
They'll probably just sign another three creative midfielders, i imagine. And one striker, though i don't think Atletico will let Falcao go mid-season, buy-out-clause or not, allowing Sturridge to move to Liverpool for about £22m.
SPURS
Dawson to QPR. They'll probably get linked with just about every decent player in Europe again before signing some mid-table nobody for about £9m on deadline day. Is Gomes still knockin' about?
ARSENAL
16-year-old French full-back for £350k. Dodgy continental centre-half #4 for about £5m. Sagna to PSG. Arshavin's due another loan, surely?
LIVERPOOL
Joe Cole to QPR. Ashley Williams, Natahan Dyer and Danny Sturridge in for around £55m.
