Social Board events don't come any better than this. For the 4th year running, we proudly present you the annual DiS football awards gala, where we award prizes to those noble heroes of the beautiful game. Presented by the world-renowned Colin R, who has agreed to briefly interrupt shoulder-rubbing with the stars for this extraordinary shindig.

As has become tradition, awards will be handed out in the following "official" categories:
1. Player of the Year: previous winners Jim (aka jacques_le_biscuit_, 2009), Edd (2010) and Lee (aka umlaut_ampersand, 2011)
2. Goal of the Season: previous winners Tom (aka prof-kitsch, 2009), Dan (aka meths, 2010) and John (aka JohnM, 2011)
3. Best Newcomer: previous winners James (aka JuxtaposedJames, 2010) and Joe (aka 84joe, 2011)
4. Unsung Hero: previous winner Jack (aka ohgood, 2010)
5. Moaniest Bastard: previous winners Dan (dan_thw, 2009 and 2010) and Adam (aka Zapsta, 2011)
6. Golden Boot: Bamos (2009), Dan (aka dan_thw, 2010 and 2011) and Tunde (aka Stealthy, 2011)

In addition, there will be an unlimited number of the usual "moody" awards, categories to be suggested at your peril, either in this thread, or in a PM if you want to keep it a surprise.

The voting forms will be sent out tomorrow via email (if I have your details) or via PM (if I don't). Feel free to contact me if you believe you are eligible to vote and you haven't received a voting form. A full overview of the season with all relevant threads will be posted in a few minutes.
The nominees for best newcomer will be revealed tomorrow as well.

Note that the upstairs room at the Blue Posts has been booked out for us from 7 PM onwards. The first award will be presented at 8:15 PM sharp(-i. The pub serves food (pretty decent pub-grub in fact) until 8 PM, so there is an opportunity to line your stomach before filling your belly with beer.

The evening is open for all DiSers to attend, regardless if you have played/watched a game or not. See you there.
