Playhouse vs Something Serious - pre-NYE battle.
hello all,
as you probably know, our main competition for NYE is Something Serious. so we decided that rather than get all bitchy about it, it would be good to have an outright dj-battle before the night. SO we have invited rob to come dj for us as a warm up/blue corner v red corner kinda fight. should be fun.
details as follows:
***THIS ONE IS IN KINGS CROSS NOT STOKEY***
Roll up, roll up for the fight of the century.
You may be aware that our partners in musical crime, Something Serious have a rival night for NYE, and rather than getting all het up about it, we thought we'd have it out before the bitching and griping gets too much.
SO we decided it'd be an excellent idea to go back to back, before we go face to face and have a massive fuck off dj battle.
IN THE BLUE CORNER: Born of four friends with a £25 pair of decks and a growing frustration at going to indie clubs that played Evil by Interpol three times a night, Something Serious ran for four years at The Phoenix, whilst spawning spin off nights Dammit! (pop punk and nu metal) and North American Scum (playing only songs by North American artists). Described by one independent punter as “Like a massive birthday party with your greatest friends and the best playlist ever” Something Serious prides itself on an euphoric mix of indie, pop, hip hop, electronic-y stuff and The Boss.
IN THE RED CORNER: well, it's us... need I say more?!
If you want an all-night-long dance to chart pop, RnB, hip-hop, indie, synth-pop, UKG, electro and whatever else, you've come to the right place.
Girls Aloud, Pulp, Kanye West, Refused, Sean Paul, Talking Heads, Artful Dodger, George Michael, Robyn, Rihanna, Destiny's Child, Beastie Boys, Metronomy... expect the unexpected.
Friday 30th Nov
£4 all night, 9pm-4am.
