You are all going to be censored
As I am sure you have noticed, every Tory scumbag and PC Plod nonce has taken every available media opportunity to throw in, pseudo-casually, phrases expressing their view that social networking (Twitter, Facebook, message boards etc.) are all completely unregulated, out-of-control and about to bring mankind to chatageddon.
Of course, not only are none of them a threat but, most importantly, the law already exists to deal with problems, and we have seen the consequences of the law on free use of twitter especially the deliberate misuse of the Malicious Communications charge.
So, why do these lying bastards keep harping on about lawlessness online? Well, they would like to bring in new laws that severely restrict the ability and ease with which individuals can communicate in large numbers. Obviously, repeating the lie about lawlessness over and over helps to enforce a view that a law is needed.
Not that I'm suggesting that online chatting and blogs is revolutionary, but an exchange of ideas and information is always useful to combat control. All dishonest statements about lawlessness of internet discourse must be challenged and dismissed peremptorily.
