sorry to make two threads really quickly, but here's something i want to talk about (vegetive states)

i'm pretty blown away by this story. a man has been in a vegetive state for a decade but is now able to answer questions.
i don't know if it's just me but i find the thought of things like this quite terrifying, ie: it happening to myself, or one of my friends or family. the same with 'locked-in' syndrome; i can't fathom what it would be like to not be able to move or communicate (at least in the methods you are used to).
i've told me mam that if anything like that happens to me then to just kill me, but i'm not sure if i'd change my mind if it actually happened.
there's a panorama special on it at 10:35 tonight, so i'm hoping to learn more about it.
