Of Gods And Men - Superficially, a story about a monastry forced into a life-threatening situation, but it addresses so much more: life, death, faith, friendship, altruism, love. Really quite affecting. (8/10)

TV:
American Beauty - A man suffering a mid-life crisis should not be the basis for such a great film. An ensemble cast on terrific form, directed to perfection.

Apocalypse Now - Still one of the greatest films ever made. A stunning portrayal of war, madness, the war against madness, and the madness of war.
