NFL WEEK 8 THREAD; DAYLIGHT SAVES WEMBLEY EDITION
Hello all, I expect this to be a fairly quiet one, as the majority of you lot seem to be off to the big game to see Brady and co get an extra home game to stuff the Rams. Have fun though all! I'll be at work during the game, but I'll certainly be watching the later games, REMEMBER EVERYONE, THIS WEEK NFL IS AN HOUR EARLIER CUZ THEIR CLOCKS GO BACK NEXT WEEK, SO NOW'S THE TIME TO STAY UP IF YOU FANCY IT OR WHATEVER.
Byes - Baltimore Ravens (thank fuck), Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (4-3) VS. ST LOUIS RAMS (3-4) (@ WEMBLEY)
St Louis have been much better than expected under Jeff Fisher, while the Pats were supposed to be walking this season, but have been fairly poor by their standards. So though this has the potential to be a far more interesting game than when first scheduled this time (ish) last year, I can only see this going one way. The Pats are still a much better team, they have way more UK fans (bleurgh) and they've had a shorter trip despite supposedly being an away game. The Rams are pretty banged up too, so though they'll try and hit the Pats' weakness by airing it out, they don't really have many people to throw to, and Steven Jackson has been fairly inconsistent/injured this season. The Pats will be too much (by 7)

NEW YORK GIANTS (5-2) @ DALLAS COWBOYS (3-3)
This should be a fun one, mostly because any game involving the Cowboys is quite amusing. The Giants have been fantastic these past couple weeks, properly looking like the Champion run they began at about week 14 last year. The Cowboys however have often had the Giants' number and are coming off a fairly dominant performance at Carolina. I still like the Giants to take this, but the Cowboys will make it extremely difficult (by 4-5)

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (2-4) @ DENVER BRONCOS (3-3)
The Saints have started to look like the team they should be in their two wins on the bounce, and Drew Brees will surely love the thin air at Mile High. The Broncos? well, who knows. They're coming off a bye-week and an incredible come back/collapse by the regular pant-shitting Chargers, but then they're also looked awful in some games. The Broncos are well rested and have a homefield advantage, but I quite like the momentum the Saints have got right now. One things for sure, there's a heavy forecast of a shoot-out scheduled around the Colorado area around 6pm local time. (Saints by 3)

San Francisco 49ers (5-2) @ Arizona Cardinals (4-3)
By the time of this game, San Fran could be celebrating a world series title for the 2nd time in 3 years. Turns out their football team could deliver them double glory this year, if they can keep their heads together and play like they can. The Cardinals are in free-fall, losing 3 in a row, and though at home, I don't think this will change at the hands of their division rivals. (SF by 7)
THE REST;
As usual, there are actually many more interesting games than Wembley, but it will get the attention anyway:
CAROLINA PANTHERS (1-5) @ CHICAGO BEARS (5-1) - not this one though, the Panthers are a total mess right now (CHI by 7)
SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (3-3) @ CLEVELAND BROWNS (1-5) - This is meant to be an easy one for the Bolts, but who the fuck knows. The perennial chokers are still somehow joint top of that constantly hilarious division out West, and the Browns have been improving with every week. Of course I'm sticking with SD, but there's no safe bet (by 4-5)
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (4-3) @ DETROIT LIONS (2-4) - Here's an interesting one, Seattle are coming off a tough loss but have generally been great this year, whereas Detroit have very much underperformed this year. The Lions will be pleased they won't have to deal with the noise at QWEST but they've hardly been formidable at home so it seems cogent to argue Seattle may well steal this (by 3)
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (1-5) @ GREEN BAY PACKERS (4-3) - really? this shit shouldn't even be allowed. And we Brits are getting fobbed off with this mess. (by +700)
MIAMI DOLPHINS (3-3) @ NEW YORK JETS (3-4) - Who knows? This could literally go anywhere. Miami are still alive, and the Jets done nearly killed themselves trying to beat the Pats. The amount of injuries the Jets have sustained is fairly impressive at this point, but remember, it was this time last year against Miami that Tebow-time happened. IT'S COMING. (Miami by 3)
ATLANTA FALCONS (6-0) @ PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (3-3) - Apparently Mike Vick playing his old team isn't a story any more. It used to be, but then the Eagles have been pretty pathetic this year, and that probably won't change now. (Falcons by 7)
WASHINGTON REDSKINS (3-4) @ PITTSBURGH (3-3) - This is another fascinating one, the Redskins are unlucky to be sitting at 3-4 and have been playing great, at times. The Steelers started slow but found their usual selves last week with a dominant beatdown of Cincy, so will be looking to build on that, and though I think they probably will, I would love to see an RG3 extravaganza here (PIT by 3)
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (3-3) @ TENNESSEE TITANS (3-4) - Neither of these teams will be making the playoffs this year, however both are in the process of heavy re-structuring and will be looking to assess their strengths against each other. The Titans are on fantastic form since Hesselbeck returns, giving CY2K a sudden, long overdue lease on life, so I fancy them, but this should be a match for the future. (by 3)
8PM:
OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-5) @ KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (1-5) - Are you as surprised as I am the Chiefs came back after their bye? (by 7+)
