The Great British Bake Off - standard of baking...
Is it me or was the standard of baking not that impressive. Most of the stuff they baked looked pretty shoddy by high street patisserie standard (Maison Blanc, Patisserie Valerie, that sort of standard) and the folks on Masterchef (the amateurs, not the professionals) seem to be able to whip up cakes, puds, meat and veg of a much higher standard.
I can't bake for toffee, but I wondered if anybody (who knew better) had an opinion...
