someone explain Reddit to me.
Based on articles like this - http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2012/oct/12/reddit-blocks-gawker-creepshot-photos - I'd always assumed that Reddit was like 4chan in a basement-dwelling keyboard warriors way of people who take South Park's speeches as their total life philosophy.
But recently I've noticed that a ton of my site's hits are coming from Reddit, so I've been going on it a bit recently. The posting quality and meme-heavy stuff is more or less what I was expecting, but above all it's just really clunky looking and unaesthetically pleasing. Found a few vaguely funny/interesting links via it though.
The most confusing thing is just how big it is, and people like Barack Obama doing big question & answer sessions on there (????)
