Tenth series of Red Dwarf starts tonight on that most prestigious of channels, Dave. Anyone looking forward to this? Of course, with the requisite apprehension characteristic of long-term Dwarfers.

I initially thought the recent special, Back To Earth, was a shameless exercise in massaging our nostalgia glands to make a new series seem like a good idea. After seeing the Directors' Cut, I thought it was actually a lot cleverer than I gave it credit for, but the four did seem to struggle slightly to conjure up that old chemistry.

Myself, I'll probably enjoy it even if it is a bit shit. It's like seeing an old friend, albeit one whose jokes have long worn thin, even though you're still laughing along anyway.
