I'm working in Shadwell, and I'm probably too late to the party with this one, but it strikes me as a massively good place to by property in.

Shadwell station has had a really nice upgrade; with access to the DLR and overground lines. 20 minutes from Highbury and Islington on the overground and about 15 minutes to central London on the DLR.
It's also 15 minutes walk to Brick lane / Liverpool street.

Like I say, I'm probably banging on about something that people have known about for ages, but I don't think I've ever heard it mentioned as a really desirable location, as such.
