I don't mean obvious difficult experiences like funerals, I mean weddings going wrong with brides being stood up, or people making terrible speeches exposing something nasty, though hopefully not as bad as Festen (great film, which inspired me to create this thread.) Personally I've never done too badly, but I come from a small family - my dad's an only child.
