saw a trailer for serenity, the new joss whedon film, at the cinema last night.

is it just me, or does he only lead write roles for strong, adolescent girls? first there's buffy (who was what, 15, 16 at the beginning?), in serenity the lead girl's 17, and he has a script for a new film about "the story of a young woman's journey, that involves a great deal of horror and some heroics".

they say write about what you know and as far as i'm aware mr whedon's never been a teenage girl.

i just find this very strange.
