I'm gonna be working in a hospital in Thailand for a few weeks as part of my course, and then I've got a total of about 12 days to spend travelling at the end. It'd be awesome if anyone's been to that part of the world and could recommend places to go, things to see, places to stay, etc.

At the moment I'm tossing up between booking a return flight from Bangkok to Hanoi and spending about 6 days in North Vietnam and 6 days in Laos, or getting the train down from Hanoi to Saigon and flying back to Bangkok from there. Really wish I had longer so I could do all of that, but I'm gonna have to be selective.
