Can I ask you all a question? How do you cope with keeping up with the amount of stuff there is in the world?

It always feels like there's new bands people have recommended I've had no time to listen to properly or TV series I've been meaning to watch or films I should have seen but didn't get round to or books people have recommended but I haven't read.

There's probably fuckloads I like that I'm never going to see but then there seems to be so much mediocrity in all these fields to plough through to find them that I'm forever giving things a go and being disappointed.

How do people cope with that? Does everyone just smile politely and pretend they're read, watched, listened to and seen everything? Do they have really good filters to siphon off the crap and get to the good stuff? Do people just pick areas of speciality? Or is everyone else as incapable of keeping up with things as I am?
