3D films - is there any point?

Zapsta [Edit] [Delete] 01:21, 4 January '10

I saw Avatar today. I thought it was a bit rubbish, but that's not what I started this thread to discuss. What I wanted to say, and am therefore saying now, is that, for the most part, the 3D-ness of the film didn't register with me. Obviously there were bits of it which did seem to genuinely leap out of the screen (mainly flecks of dust), and if somebody had stopped me at any point and said "Hey look, the film is in 3D", I probably would have said "Oh yeah!" But for the most part, my viewing experience was no different to what I imagine it would have been had I been sat in a 2D screening. Am I alone in this? Thanks.
