living legend (cricket centric)

asita [Edit] [Delete] 12:36, 3 December '09

it occurs to me today that i am a little bit proud to be alive to read about the exploits of virinder sehwag, the force of fucking nature that is india's opening batsmen. he's currently not out on 284 off 239 balls, his 4th score in excess of 250 and his third at more than a run a ball. he is always over shadowed by his more serious and responsible team mates tendulkar and dravid, but if you consider that the accusation levelled at tendulkar is that to often he scores big in losing or drawing games it becomes clear how important sehwag is. his batting may not be responsible or tactical but it most definitely is game changing and entirely selfless in it's approach. a seriously, seriously impressive player.

i can't think of a set of personal figures for any player in any other sport that can compare to the ludicrous excess of those above. anyone got any any comparisons they can think of - people who on their day so completely dwarf other players as to be barely playing the same game?
