I'm not even Irish. When whole seasons/qualifying competitions/finals can depend on one decision, and the fact that TV has been pointing out referring mistakes for years in plain view of everyone, why is it not FIFA's top priority to do this? I dont actually understand. There is no argument against it. It's now just beyond ridiculous that there isn't a video ref option. People say "oh but it will ruin the flow of the game" fine, then each manager gets 3 calls to the video ref and that's it. Seems fair. It has undermined the game in general to such an extent tonight (and in general) that I'm not even gonna bother watching the World Cup if they're not in place by then. At the very least back of goal refs.
