I really wanted to like Metalocalypse, because I love metal and Adult Swim, but I must say that it's the first Adult Swim show I've seen that has the trademark ridiculousness down but forgot the humor. I wanted to find this show funny because the concept seems amazing and many people, upon hearing that I hadn't seen it yet, expressed disbelief, since, according to them, the show seemed right up my street. Conceptually, it is, but there's something wrong with the execution. The Metalocalypse episodes I've watched have elicited plenty of "Oh, I get it...it's not making me laugh, but I get it." It seems like they spend more time on the music, which is actually pretty good, than actually trying to come up with anything funny.
