Applying for a job by email

ReclaimYourBrain [Edit] [Delete] 20:04, 2 November '09

I'm just about the apply for a job by email with my CV and a covering letter attached.
Now what do you write in the email; Do you leave it blank? Do you write (as an example) "Please find enclosed my CV and a covering letter as an application for the position of **** as advertised in ****"?
If I then write the above, how do I end the email, something like; "I look forward to your response/I look forward to hearing from you" and then my name?

I much more prefer to send my cv and whatnot by post, usually you know it's got a good chance at going straight to the right person. I just feel that sending an email to "personnel@" or "top.jobs@" might not even be looked at due to it not going to a personal email address.

P.S. I'm trying to grow a man beard, it doesn't look too hot after two weeks of growth.
