this evening i am meeting a lady friend to go for a nice picnic round primrose hill (weather permitting).

good plan.

however, neither of us are bringing any prepared food. strawberries are on the cards i think, and wine, but how does one best improvise, since we won't have any glasses, no sandwiches (maybe buy pasties?), no cakes. strawberries from the tub, sugar in a bag, cream in a plastic cup?

i think maybe presentation is important, but if you can't do it with a checked blanket and wine glasses and a wicker basket, what's the next best thing?
