What whisky do you rate? (Slightly middle aged / class centric)

vamos [Edit] [Delete] 10:16, 25 March '09

I really like Highland Park 18 for a real treat. Great all round whisky with a bit of that smokiness I like, but not an overpowering amount like a Talisker or Laphroaig (though those guys have their days too). Not sure I'd really fork out for a bottle though had I not grabbed one from my old job!

I also really like Ancnoc:

It's a little up and coming brand. It's nothing amazing compared to the big hitters, but for its price its a great little 'tipple'.

I also quite liked the Santori Whisky Bill Murray tries in Lost in Translation. Tried it out in Japan (not realising it's a real brand previously) and it was very good. There was a massive difference in quality though between the years.

Monkey Shoulder is a nice little blend too. And I really like the Oban 14.

Got any favourites?
