Firefox problems - boring but essential.

I'm on a mac and just about the last hour firefox has been playing up. Its never done this before so I'm a bit baffled. Does anyone know whats wrong with it and what can I do to it to right the wrongs? Symptoms are as below. I've tied restarting the mac and reinstalling the software.

All my bookmarks are gone, I try to restore my bookmarks but its says its "Unable to Process the back up file". I can't add any bookmarks as I click the bookmark button and nothing happens. I've then gone into my error console and the console is flooded with errors, I'll try a copy and paste to give you some ideas what it might be.
