Un hilo de fútbol (football thread)
Holá, amígos.
Last night saw Brazil beat Italy 2-0 at the Emirates, both goals coming before half time. Elano and Robinho were the scorers, and KiK has reportedly been nursing a semi ever since.
Other footy from last night saw Weymouth beat Torquay away, Accrington draw 1-1 with Brentford and Brighton go down 2-4 at home to Peterborough. The England u21's also lost 3-2 to their Ecuadorian counterparts.
Joe 'I hope to leave hospital on Thursday' Kinnear is to have heart bypass surgery on Friday. Never good to see anyone in that condition. All the best, Joe.
Guus Hiddink is expected to be named the new Chelsea manager, staying on only until the end of the season. The Dutchman says he wants to take Russia to the World Cup finals, which'd be his fourth successive qualification with different teams. (He'd then only need one more to equal Bora Milutinovic's record, fact fans.)
Tonight, the two Ireland's (Northern and Rep. of) have WCQ matches, Wales host Poland and England travel to Spain. Will Beckham equal Bobby Moore's record for most caps gained by an outfield player? Only a few people care, as long as he can still do a job I ain't fussed.
But clearly the big game is taking place in the FA Carlsberg Trophy, with Havant & Waterlooville hosting Crawley Town. A good trip/game to all those going tonight.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand...............PLAY BALL!
