Boring Question re:contacting MPs

ChicCharnley [Edit] [Delete] 13:51, 11 November '08

Doing some work for a uni presentation on how devolution has changed the shape of the Labour Party (thrilling, I know), I thought it'd be a good idea to email some Labour MPs and get some quotes, etc. Just to pad it out a bit. But I've just found out MPs will only deal with requests from their own constituents, due to parliamentary protocol. Since my MP is a Lib Dem the whole idea has fallen flat on its arse.

Any politics buffs know why this protocol is in place? It's rather annoying.
