So I know work threads are a little boring but I'd like you all to share in my woe and perhaps cheer me up with your own stories of dramatic office humour failure. Yesterday I sent what I thought was a perfectly pleasant email to the training coordinator for our new computer system (stay with me, this gets better) asking her to let me know when her staff were on site. It seems however that I overstepped the mark by suggesting that she might like to fit her staff with little bells, 'or perhaps give them a bugle', as her return email came dripping with venom and accusing me of having questioned her professionalism and capacity to oversee the whereabouts of her staff. Whoops. Anyone managed anything worse than that?
