How many people investment banks would have to sack in order to give out 2007 bonuses

LordLuciusBanter [Edit] [Delete] 13:43, 5 November '08

A friend sent me this. The numbers are spurious but it's an entertaining read (unless you work for UBS). It's how many people would need to be laid off in order for the banks to give out the same bonuses they did last year.

Merril Lynch: Layoffs required to maintain compensation ratio: 58,195
Credit Suisse: Layoffs required to maintain compensation ratio: 16,161
Deutsche Bank: Layoffs required to maintain compensation ratio: 5,130
JP Morgan: Layoffs required to maintain compensation ratio: 5,647
Morgan Stanley: Layoffs required to maintain compensation ratio: No additional layoffs required
Goldman Sachs: Layoffs required to maintain compensation ratio: No additional layoffs required

UBS: Layoffs required to maintain compensation ratio: Everyone
